Standard Elemental Abbreviations

It has long been known that every chemical we know is made up of a distinct collection of the fundamental elements: fire, earth, air, water, spirit. The differences between flesh and stone, and between gold and coal, are largely caused by subtle differences in the balance of these fundamental elements.

In preparation for a standard table of material elements based on the balance of fundamental elements, the following set of standard abbreviations and three main groups was decided:


Metals

Al – Aluminium
Ba – Barium
Bi – Bismuth
Ca – Calcium
Cb – Cobalt
Cp – Copper
G – Gold
I – Iron
Le – Lead
Li – Lithium
M – Mercury
Mn – Manganese
Mg – Magnesium
Mi – Mithril
Ni – Nickel
Po – Potassium
Pl – Platinum
Si – Silver
So – Sodium
Sr – Strontium
Ti – Tin
Tm – Titanium
Tu – Tungsten
Z – Zinc
