Of the countless worlds created by the creators, Eanir and Lyria, only a tiny fraction are known to be connected to one another via world gates. Passage between worlds may be because of exploration, trade, for love, or for war. They also act as gates between the world of the living and the dead; allowing the resurrection of the fallen. And despite their importance, it is rare for an inhabitant of Erasan to ask about their nature or origins.

As with many subjects, the gods themselves give few concise answers about the origins and design of world gates. However it seems clear enough that most are, at least in part, the work of the creators. That said, it is thought that some of the lesser known gates may have been crafted by other gods; some for their own or others' convenience, and some with more mischievous or evil intentions.

An example of one such world gate is in the dark depths of Korlayra dungeons. It is rumoured to have been made by an evil god named Xeretos, sometime during the War of Shadows. Some have suggested that this is at least part of the reason that Korlayra is still plagued by undead as it is. However this gate is rarely active, and the reasons for this are currently unclear.
