Attributes are a description of ourselves and our overall physical and mental capabilities. There are three attributes: strength, dexterity, wisdom.

High strength allows greater damage to be inflicted using melee weapons. Having a high strength attribute is also associated with having a lot of health. So this attribute is particularly important for close-combat classes.
High dexterity increases the damage inflicted by distance weapons. So this attribute is particularly important for the distance-combat classes. However being highly dexterous improves the chance of a successful hit and increases the chance of being able to dodge attacks.
High wisdom increases the damage inflicted by magic. Having high wisdom is also associated with having a lot of mana. So this attribute is particularly useful for the magical-combat classes.

Importantly, the Guilds of Learning may not influence a person's attributes. Only as a warrior develops may they gain attributes. And it is up to the warrior which attributes they choose; the Guilds of Learning can give advice though, if needed.
